personality
Neikos - He is the middle child of the three and his personalty reflects it. As the middle child he is prone to whining and pouting. Neikos strives for acceptance from his mother and those around him. He thrives on praise and will do anything to earn it. He's the softest and kindest of the three and is not only capable of love, but deep down wants it with all his being. He also strives to be as well respected as he figures Eristikos is and as adored as he thinks Philoneike is. Unfortunately this means he tends to overdo things, extend himself beyond his ability and take on more than he can handle. He rebels against what his siblings do and their method of doing things, but also tends to be the peacemaker between the other two.

He can be a clumsy lout, and frequently makes mistakes that cost the three of them their goal, whatever that goal might be. He tends to open his mouth when he shouldn't, stick his nose where it doesn't belong and venture into the territories of others. Meaning that while he's not a god of war, he aspires to be a great as one and will often times try desperately to fit into those personas. This is where he gets lost, were if Neikos would simply stick to Strife and Quarrel, he would probably succeed far more often than he fails.

He's exceedingly fond of most of his siblings and cousins, even when they are something he probably shouldn't care for. Though personally, he could do without the erotes. In his mind their elements have never been kind to him so why should he be kind in return. Family is dear to him, very dear to him, and he'll defend them to the end. Yet, he's a coward. Boldness doesn't require courage, and he is bold when he shouldn't be and cowers away from the aftereffects when they have the potential to be epically bad.

Philoneike - The quintessential youngest child, she was protected in her youth and adored, at least in her own mind. Pampered and spoiled she behaves like a lady sometimes and a brat at others while doing her job to the best of her ability. She is creative with her methodology and is always looking for the unique way to approach a situation where she can cause the necessary Strife and Quarrel.

She never cared much for her given name, instead preferring by far to go by Nikki, and if one calls her anything differently, they're liable to get a fist to the nose. Philoneike is prone to starting fights amongst her siblings and is the more emotional out of the three where she'll take things to the extreme. She's a risk taker and frequently uses drugs and alcohol during her off time. This leads to frequent minor overdoses where she finds herself sick and shivering, waiting for her brothers to bail her out of trouble again. Which they always do.

She's more fond of Eristikos than of Neikos, because she sees him as being the protector of the three of them. He's the one that can always drive her monsters away and takes care of her when she's not well. She likes to think of herself as Eris' favorite, though that's probably far from the truth, and will challenge anyone who tells her differently.

Used to getting her way, she'll throw grandiose temper tantrums if she doesn't that generally end with something being destroyed in a way it was not meant to. Frequently petulant, she'll fight for the sake of fighting just to get her way.

Eristikos - Organized and an absolute perfectionist, Eristikos doesn't put up with any shenanigans. He makes lists of things he wants to accomplish and is cold and calculating in executing them. Frequently mistaken for being cold and callous, he does let his hair down from time to time. Most often only when he has nothing on his plate as far as responsibilities go. He takes responsibility very seriously and doesn't let anything get in his way when he has something he wants or needs to do.

He's the protector, the eldest of the three and the one that always sees that the other two are taken care of and safe. He feels he owes at least that to them if nothing else. Outside of his siblings, all of Eris' children, he doesn't form bonds of friendship. Feeling that outsiders could never really understand the idiosyncrasies of being of the children of Discord.

He's the quiet one, not one for speaking unless the situation really calls for it. He blends into the scenery and works best alone. At least he thinks so.

The Three together - As children of Eris they are Strife, Quarrel, Feud and Grievance incarnate. They enjoy their mother's disregard for balance and concord and will do anything she asks of them at any opportunity. Overall the three of them work independently of each other, but occasionally will work together if necessity dictates. Though, Philoneike and Eristikos are less likely to work with Neikos because of the latter's propensity for screwing things up.
history
Little is known about the history of the Neikea. They were born in the long line of the children of Eris, coming into the world in a time when it seemed so many Olympians were bearing young. For this they grew up not only near their own siblings, but close to their cousins as well. Eristikos came first, followed by Neikos then closely by Philoneike. Philoneike was immediately cherished for her looks (or so she thinks) and Eristikos already had garnered a deal of respect among the siblings. This left little Neikos to be mostly left out of the siblings affairs and saw him seeking higher aspirations.

Eristikos was never one to make mistakes, to get caught or to get into trouble for the things he did. He moved through the ages, doing what it was in his nature to do and caused little wake when wake didn't need to be caused. From a very young age he proved his worth -planning and executing schemes to cause the best results. He worked well with other gods at achieving their means, when his element is involved, and is generally the one of the Neikea one would approach if a feud or quarrel is desired.

Philoneike was not one to grow up a delicate flower. Not given her matronage and not given her siblings, cousins and mother. It didn't suit. From early on she hated her name, shortening it to Neike for many years before deciding even that didn't suit as well. Now she goes by Nikki exclusively and only those who don't know her dare to call her by her birth name. Or those that wish to see her uglier side.

She was always been one to take the quick and easy route to achieve her means. She understood from her youth that her very words and actions could cause strife without having to exert much effort. Once people understood who she was, and she came into her own, she learned that if she said the right thing at the right time grand things could come from it. Even if the one who heard her didn't believe her, the seed had been sown.

It was with her knack for quick results that she developed a penchant for the short, passionate bursts of quarrel that generally ended in a physical fight.

Neikos, however, was another story altogether. He had a drive for acceptance that would outweigh any logic that might pass through his brain. He idolized his uncle Ares, saw his successes as greatness and his failures as minor bumps in the road of further excellence. For this reason, there was always a degree of hero worship there. Through the ages he watched, learned and tried on his own with various degree of failure, to emulate the man he idolized. Neikos would take his strive for acceptance to the extreme thousands of years down the road.

In most recent events, and probably the stupidest out of any scheme Neikos came to concoct, was the overthrow of the Olympic crown. It happened in 2004-2005 and life for the three Neikea would never be the same once Neikos got his hands in the cookie jar. And he had. He'd made the mistake of falling for the daughter of war, and love her he did, only to have their relations forbidden. He'd been told, rather roughly, by his idol, on numerous occasions, that he was to say away from Harmonia.

Stupidly, he didn't listen. It had been his idea that they should get married. It was his idea that they should try to win over Ares and it was his idea to overthrow the king of Olympus. The plan hadn't necessarily involved Harmonia turning Zeus into a serpent and sending him to reside in the underworld, nor had it involved the usurping of Hera in less than pleasant ways, but it was the plan none the less and unfortunately turned out unlike it had been planned.

Against the warnings of his dear siblings, Neikos convinced Harmonia of the plan. Convinced her that if they were to make Ares king of Olympus he would allow them to marry. She did end up changing Zeus into a snake and releasing him in the underworld. He did end up usurping Hera and giving the crown to Ares. But something happened that was not expected. Ares did not allow Neikos to marry his daughter - as Philoneike had warned, and in fact threatened death upon him should he touch her again.

The crown was eventually returned to it rightful owners by ways of the natural order and he and Harmonia were on the run. Or rather, Neikos ran and left Harmonia behind.

Disgusted and fearing for their safety, all three of the Neikea went into hiding. Eristikos and Philoneike taking every opportunity to cause their brother pain and suffering for losing them their prime spot on Olympus.
residences
Neikos - A flat in Chicago is his bachelor pad. Like many single men, it's not the cleanest of flats and the decor can be, at times, considered stereotypical. There are clothes scattered about, and he does tend to leave a trail behind him as he goes room to room. There are scattered soda cans, cups and toys.

While the place isn't filthy, it certainly isn't of the level one would expect from someone who claims to be as skilled with the ladies as he does. The furniture has a pieced together sort of look to it, as if bits and pieces caught his eye with little thought as to whether it went together or not. Most of it does not go together.

Philoneike - An apartment in San Fransisco is what Philoneike calls home. It's contemporary in it's decor and layout and kept pristinely clean. The colors are vivid, favoring bright red, black, white and gold; and over all it looks as if it would be the home of one far more given to high class levels of living.

Eristikos - A flat in New York City decorated comfortably and cleanly is where Eristikos resides. He keeps everything orderly and tidy, nothing is ever out of place. If he can't find something, it's because one of his meddling relatives was messing with him.

Together they share two residences. They have a temple on Olympus, not far from their mother's, which up until the past couple years had been their base of operations. It was eclectically decorated to match their eclectic personalities and it was for the most part, home. However, since Neikos' bout of supreme stupidity left them feeling that Olympus would be dangerous to tread until said brother sorted out his affairs, their base of operations moved to a quaint and private residence in Amsterdam.

They do, generally speaking, live separately but occasionally come closer as the bonds of sisterhood and brotherhood are too strong to keep them wholly apart.
misc
have seen the Neikea referred to as children of Nyx as well, however I figure it makes more sense for them to be the children of Eris and therefore Olympian by birth.
